CLOSING CEREMONY OF SCHOOL YEAR 2022 -2023 AT BÌNH AN CENTER
Red phoenix wings and the sound of cicadas herald the conclusion of another school year and the beginning of summer.
A ceremony to mark the end of the 2022–2023 school year was held at Binh An Development Center on May 26, 2023 in the morning. More than 200 center students, professors, Mr. and Mrs. Frances-Phil Maclaurin, sisters, and other guests joined the celebration.
The ambiance of the celebration was made more thrilling by the first graders’ performance of the dance “Such a Happy Day” during the opening ceremony. Sr. Hong Nhi, the director of Binh An Center, made a year-end report and thanked the professors and donors who had supported the facility throughout the previous academic year.
Next, Mr. and Mrs. Frances – Phil expressed his gratitude to the sisters and teachers for their commitment to the children. He also congratulated the children on their successful completion of the last school year. At the same time, the fifth graders were motivated to excel and lead happy lives while pursuing their studies by the grandparent’s students.
Interspersed with special musical performances had been prepared very carefully by the children. The “Hoa Thuy Tien Education Project” English teachers and students provided several songs about school age for the occasion.
At the end of the ceremony, “Thy Linh”, speaking on behalf of the fifth graders, thanked the sisters, teachers, and benefactors who have continuously loved, supported, looked after, and educated the students in Bình An Center over the last five years. The center also gave a modest present for the fifth students to use as baggage as they join the sixth grade.
It was difficult to wrap up the academic year 2022–2023, because it had mixed emotions. Although the fifth graders had to leave their beloved school and be separated from their peers and teachers, they were happy for the summer holiday and trying to have as much fun as they could.
However, it is safe to say that the youngsters will never forget the deep truths, human values, and life lessons that the Sisters and Teachers so kindly imparted to them.
Friends For Street Children Association (FFSC) would like to respectfully thank all of the sisters, teachers, volunteers, benefactors, and parents, who have continuously loved, cared for, supported, and worked with FFSC during the last academic year. Wishing you all have a happy and healthy summer holiday, students.
