PRELIMINARY CEREMONY OF THE FIRST SEMESTER AND CELEBRATING THE LUNAR NEW YEAR OF THE DRAGON

Spring atmosphere is filling every region of Vietnam. Tet holidays are an opportunity for people to gather and get together with family, friends, and loved ones. Children are also very excited to celebrate Tet because, for Vietnamese children, the joy during the Tet holiday is receiving lucky money, enjoying delicious jams, or buying new clothes.

​          The Binh An and Binh Trieu Centers, which are under the Friends For Street Children (FFSC), recently held a preliminary ceremony for the first semester and celebrated the Lunar New Year Year of the Dragon.

          The event took place on the mornings of January 31 and February 1 and was attended by Sister Bich Huyen, the Executive Director, as well as Mrs. Frances and Mr. Phill, benefactors, members of the “Charity Investors” group, Sisters, teachers, staff, volunteers and all students studying at those two centers.

          The centers organized activities to reward students for their achievements, and also showcased performances such as singing, dancing, and fashion shows, which added to the lively and joyful atmosphere. Sister Bich Huyen expressed her gratitude to everyone involved with the FFSC, and also extended her New Year wishes to the attendees. The 5^th-grade students representing the entire center also expressed their thanks and offered spring wishes to the Sisters, teachers, and benefactors.

          The benefactors, wishing to bring a meaningful and fulfilling Tet season, generously gifted the children with delicious cakes and jams, lucky money, and messages of love.

          The event concluded on a positive note with the children leaving the center with happiness and joy. They were excited to share with their parents that they had received lucky money, jam, and other gifts. It is heartening to know that the children had a wonderful time and made memories that will last a lifetime.
