GRATEFUL

Our Vietnamese people have always kept the beautiful tradition of “Respecting and Revered Master” alive through decades.  On November 20, the annual Vietnamese Teachers’ Charter Day, this custom is particularly visible.  On this day, whether they are still in school or not, everyone expresses their love and thanks to their favorite teachers.

In harmony with that atmosphere, two centers in Binh An and Binh Trieu under the Friends For Street Children Association (FFSC) held a painting, card-making, and calligraphy contest to show their gratitude to the teachers.

During the solemn atmosphere of Vietnamese Teacher’s Day, students expressed their gratitude to all of the instructors – the boatmen who transported them across the river and assisted them in achieving their dreams of a bright future.  Even though the ceremony was just about an hour long, it was gorgeous, solemn, and passionate.  Each youngster received a present from the center before the event finished.

Despite the fact that this profession of “ferrying” is fraught with difficulties, the teachers are never disheartened; since they love what they do, because of their passion, those seemingly insurmountable obstacles become inspiration to continue the voyage of bringing children to the door of knowledge.
